
J.D. Funari is a trailer editor and producer at Netflix in Los Angeles, California. His work spanning over 14 years has been featured on campaigns for filmmakers such as Adam McKay, Steven Soderbergh, David Fincher, Denis Villeneuve, Alex Garland, and Joe Wright among others.
In 2009 J.D. edited the feature length screenwriting documentary Tales from the Script, directed by Peter Hanson. It was released theatrically by First Run Features and went on to receive praise from national critics, earning a 75% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It was also profiled on Leonard Maltin's TV show Secret's Out and recommended on Twitter by Iron Man director Jon Favreau.
In 2012 J.D. joined Mark Woollen & Associates, one of the premiere movie marketing agencies in Los Angeles. There he edited Key Art and Golden Trailer award winning trailers for movies including Birdman, Bad Words, and Only God Forgives, as well as widely seen trailers for Fifty Shades of Grey, Ex Machina, and Sicario.
Exposure, the short film J.D. directed, edited, and produced, debuted online in 2021 after a 2 year world-wide festival run where it garnered multiple awards.
